Cajun Style Gumbo

Cook Time: 1 Hour (approximately)


You haven’t had good gumbo until you’ve tried Cajun Fry Cajun-style Gumbo! This gumbo is the perfect cajun flavors to enjoy with your family on a cool fall evening! Add in some okra for that extra special taste!


  • Cajun Gravy Gumbo Mix
  • 3 tbsp grease
  • 1 1/2 quarts of water
  • Diced Tomatoes (or Rotel)
  • 1 lb. chicken
  • 1 link of sausage
  • 1/2 to 1 lb. sliced okra


  • Brown approximately 1 lb. of chicken and 1 link of sausage in 3 large tablespoons of grease.
    • If you like okra, add that to the pot too!
  • Mix 1/4 cup of Cajun Gravy Gumbo Mix into 1 1/2 quarts of water.
    • If you want a spicier taste, you can add a can of Rotel.
  • Let it come to a boil and then lower the fire.
  • Cook until tender. The longer you cook it, the thicker and darker the gumbo will get!
  • Enjoy!
